Russian oil and gas industry has adapted to the challenges of low oil prices. This was stated by Minister of Energy of Russian Federation Alexander Novak in an interview with the German newspaper Handelsblatt.

 

"For the first five months of 2015, oil production increased by 1.2 percent. Thus, the crisis in oil prices has not affected the volume of production of Russian energy companies. Our oil and gas producers to meet the challenges arising from the low prices," - said Novak . However, the minister did not hide the fact that the oil companies have to make changes in the investment program.

 

Commenting on the prospects of cooperation between Russia and the West in the energy sector, Nowak warned against political interference in economic affairs. At the same time he added that sanctions imposed against Russia, going to benefit the country's industry.

 

“We are now fully focus on import substitution "- said the head of the Ministry of Energy. - However, we are in favor of cooperation with foreign companies. Despite the sanctions, they continue to work in Russia."
