The Working Group was established in accordance with the Memorandum between the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the State Energy Administration of China from December 5, 2012.
The Russian part of the Working Group was headed by Talayt Aliyev, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, the Chinese part was headed by Zou Itsyao, Director of International Cooperation Department of the State Energy Administration of China.
During the meeting of the Working Group, the sides exchanged by the information on the Russian-Chinese energy cooperation in terms of the new global and regional challenges, an Asian Energy Ring, the impact of producing unconventional hydrocarbon reserves on the situation on the energy markets, the main provisions of the development of electric power industry in China as well as the potential of shale gas in the PRC.
Following the meeting it was agreed to determine during three months the key working directions of the Group, their co-heads from the Russian and Chinese sides and topics of joint research.
