Taking into account the quarantine restrictions imposed in connection with the pandemic of the coronavirus COVID-19 around the world  in order to ensure the most safe and effective attending the 3rd International Conference "Risk Management in Energy 2020" (the Conference), scheduled earlier to be held in Turkey, it was decided to carry out the event on May 28, 2020 via International Webinar.

Dr. Leena Srivastava,IIASA Deputy Director General for Science will make a presentation “Dynamic Demand Management: Opportunities and risks for smart grids” within the Plenary session “Corporate strategies for risk management in transforming energy” on May 29.

Dr Watson is the Secretary General of Eurogas, a role he has held since January 2019. Eurogas is the association representing the European gas wholesale, retail and distribution sectors.

Adam Sieminski is President of the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center.  KAPSARC is an independent, non-profit, research think tank located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  Its mission is to advance the understanding of energy, economics, and the environment, while acting as a catalyst for dialogue on issues of importance to policy makers and the public.

Dr. Sun will make a presentation within the Plenary Session “Risks and Prospects of Transforming the World Energy Balance in Terms of Economy Globalization”.

The Conference focuses on the risks and prospects of transforming the global energy balance in terms of economy globalization, mechanisms of hedging risks to improve stability of investments in energy projects in conditions of energy prices volatility and other uncertainties, usage of exchange mechanisms to increase the transparency of pricing in mercantile markets, contribution of modern nuclear technologies to “Green Energy” transition, challenges and opportunities for  digitalizing power generation, development of innovative petrochemical industries, introduction of environmentally friendly technologies and equipment for expanding NGV fuel market, insurance of information risks and cyber threat prevention, and others.

Phenomenal progress in the development and proliferation of energy efficient technologies, an economic breakthrough in renewable energy production (solar, wind, geothermal, etc.), and changes to behavioural patterns in energy consumption have led to a sharp  slowdown in the growth of energy demand across much of the world and a rapid diversification of energy sources in favour of a transition to a low-carbon economy.
